Eleven Sizewell A workers have arrived at Hinkley to undertake a short term assignment, supporting the ongoing cooling pond deplant and decommissioning activities.

The team received some familarisation training and shadowed the current project team, who were busy deplanting braker jet pipe work from the R2 pond building. Before long, they were supporting the accelerated removal of the redundant pipe work.

Following the completion of this work, they are expected to prepare for the deplanting of the R1 pond cooler plant room.

Magnox South is encouraging the mobility of staff to create a flexible workforce, able to build experience on different decommissioning projects and use the knowledge and skills to share innovative ideas and accelerate work at other locations.
