NDA Press release
Energy and Climate Change Minister Mike O’Brien has announced the appointment of four non-executive directors to the Board of the NDA.
They are Janette Brown, Patrick Dixon, David Owens and Alistair Wivell.
Welcoming the appointments, NDA Chairman Stephen Henwood said:
“This is an important time for our organisation as we move from our initial establishment phase to an increased emphasis on delivery and performance.
“The four new non-executive directors will bring a range of skills and experience which will be particularly valuable to the NDA. It is a testament to the progress we have made since 2005 that we are able to attract high quality candidates who want to contribute to our mission”.
“I would like to take this opportunity to thank the three non-executive directors who are standing down, namely Roger Scott, Lyndon Stanton and Primrose Stark. They have made a major contribution to the organisation”.
“The NDA continues to make good progress in all areas of its remit under the leadership of acting chief executive Richard Waite, including the completion of the Sellafield competition, progress around our land sales and support for the Government’s managing radioactive waste safely programme. The Board is determined that we make the right appointment to lead the NDA and, whilst this has taken longer than envisaged, it is progressing.”
Stephen Henwood was appointed Chair of the NDA on 1 March 2008. Three existing non-executive directors have had their appointments extended to 31 December 2011. They are: Nick Baldwin, Tony Cooper and David Illingworth.
