EDF announces 5 year extension for UK nuclear plants

Babcock's Malcolm SmithBabcock Dounreay Partnership bids for Dounreay nuclear decommissioning contract
Babcock Dounreay Partnership, a consortium of Babcock International Group, CH2M HILL and URS, has been short-listed by the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority to bid for the management and operations contract at Dounreay, originally the UK’s centre of fast reactor research and development and now Scotland’s largest nuclear clean-up and demolition project.  Dounreay is currently managed by a Site Licence Company (SLC) called DSRL (Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd). BAE Systems – Woodford to close earlier than expected

Evap D Pioneer Point Structural Steelwork £400 million clean-up project on Europe’s largest nuclear site in Cumbria has created around
175 new highly skilled jobs at the Interserve Pioneer Point facility in Cheshire.

Interserve Industrial who were awarded a contract with process engineering contractor Costain
Oil & Gas Process Ltd, principal contractor for the Evaporator D project at the Sellafield nuclear
site in September last year, have now taken over space in a large indoor facility located at the
230,000 sq ft Pioneer Point facility, opposite Interserve’s existing facility on the Poole Hall Road
Industrial Estate to carry out the module assembly and testing work. Read it all..
