The UK Radioactive Waste Inventory, currently updated every three years, is provided by the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) and Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) The information, like that from previous Inventories, is being made publicly available.   Read it all..

Dounreay – New site closure plan begins to take shape

Dounreay Site Restoration Ltd is updating its workforce about the changing shape of the site closure plan and efforts to bring new industry to the area.

NDA make executive team changes

CEO Tony Fountain has made some changes to his executive team.

John Clarke will take up the new role of Executive Director – Business Planning, and Richard Waite will take up the new role of Executive Director – Delivery.

These changes reflect the organisation’s greater focus on performance and delivery. Reporting to John Clarke will be Adrian Simper, Strategy Director and Sean Balmer, Commercial Director.

Jon Phillips, Communications Director, and Jim McLaughlin, HR Director continues to report to the CEO. Andrew Oldham is interim Chief Finance Officer pending a permanent appointment.

Highest-Ever Level of Government Spending on Nuclear Decommissioning

NDA secures new delivery partner for £22 billion Sellafield Ltd contract

The Nuclear Decommissioning Authority (NDA) today completed one of the UK’s largest and most complex public procurement programmes when the shares in Sellafield Ltd transferred from British Nuclear Fuels Ltd to a specially created private sector consortium – Nuclear Management Partners Ltd.

Nuclear Management Partners Ltd (NMP) will own the shares in Sellafield Ltd for up to 17 years, the potential length of new and updated contracts between the NDA, NMP and Sellafield Ltd. The value of the work covered is worth £1.3bn in its first year and over the full lifetime of the contract approximately £22bn. Read it all..
