Contractors at Nuclear site Sellafield: Industrial action

Author: Admin - Categories: sellafield - Tags: , ,
Monday 2nd February 2009
Contractors working on the Sellafield site have decided to undertake a day of industrial action in support of workers at the Lindsey Oil Refinery in North Lincolnshire.

The Sellafield site remains open and operational. Safety is paramount at all times at Sellafield and we are confident that the action will have no impact on safety, security or production.

The action involves approximately 900 contractors working for companies operating under the National Agreement for the Engineering Construction Industry (NAECI).

It does not involve Sellafield Ltd employees, who form the bulk of the workforce and who are continuing to carry out their duties in connection with the site’s main activities.

The issue at Lindsey Oil Refinery is not a Sellafield Ltd one, and therefore it would be inappropriate for us to comment on it.
